Another ballet pic

drew my friend Larisa Nugent who is an absolutely incredible ballet dancer. She just won Grande Prix at YAGP Philly semi-finals

I used watercolor pencils, colored pencils, a black pen, and a white pen.

I like them both, but I think I like this one more because the shading is smoother and deeper. However, I really liked the one with the background because the deep blue was an awesome contrast to her white dress and light shading. <3

I really love the use of negative space. Her pose is so delicate I think the white background and pale colors enhance the piece a lot. I was going to comment about her "falling over" but I'm guessing in the original reference she was like that too.
